Helen Blackburn is a Partner at The International Family Law Group LLP, qualifying as a solicitor in 1998 and joining iFLG as a partner in 2009, bringing over 25 years of experience to her practice. She is a nationally and internationally recognised expert in international children law, with a particular specialism in child abduction under both the Hague Convention and non-Hague frameworks, intercountry and domestic adoption, cross-border child arrangements, international relocation and leave to remove applications, enforcement of foreign orders, jurisdiction disputes, surrogacy, and wardship. Helen is regularly instructed by the International Child Abduction and Contact Unit (ICACU) in its capacity as the central authority for England and Wales, represents clients in High Court and Court of Appeal proceedings, is a founding member and former Chair of the Child Abduction Lawyers Association (CALA), a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers (IAFL), and is accredited by Resolution as a specialist in child abduction and private children law. She is ranked Band 1 by Chambers UK and as a Leading Individual by Legal 500 in the field of Children: Cross-Border Disputes.
