Emily Cannell

Emily Cannell is a Partner and Head of the Family department at Mincoffs Solicitors LLP, based in the firm’s Jesmond office in Newcastle upon Tyne. She graduated with a first class honours in law and qualified as a solicitor in 2009, joining Mincoffs in September 2012 and being promoted to partner in July 2021. Emily specialises in all aspects of family law with a particular focus on high net worth clients involving complex business structures, financial remedy proceedings, and pre- and post-nuptial agreements, and also advises on private law children matters. She is renowned for a pragmatic and proportionate approach, intelligent negotiating style, and focus on achieving early and considered outcomes, and has acted for a number of high-profile individuals and members of the legal profession.
