About Claire

Claire Yorke is a Partner in Mishcon de Reya’s Family department and head of the team’s Non-Court Dispute Resolution (NCDR) group, where she has practised family law since joining the firm in 2008. Widely regarded as one of the leading family law solicitors in England and Wales, she is described by Legal 500 as “one of the very best and brightest partners working in family law” — a reflection of the standing she has earned among peers, judiciary, and the high net worth clients who seek her out at the most consequential moments of their lives.

Claire advises high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals on the full spectrum of financial remedy work arising from relationship breakdown. She is particularly sought after for cases involving complex trust structures, corporate and business assets (including privately held companies and partnerships), inherited wealth, crypto assets and digital wealth, and sophisticated remuneration arrangements such as long-term incentive plans, deferred bonuses and carried interest. She also has a highly regarded wealth protection practice, advising clients on pre- and post-nuptial agreements — structuring protections that are robust, fair, and designed to withstand scrutiny. A significant proportion of her cases carry an international dimension, spanning multiple jurisdictions, offshore structures and cross-border enforcement.

As head of Mishcon’s NCDR group, Claire is one of the most committed and credentialled advocates for resolving family disputes constructively and away from court. She is a trained mediator, accredited by the Family Mediation Council and trained through Resolution, bringing a combination of technical depth, procedural authority, and genuine interpersonal skill to the process. In a landscape where courts now actively encourage non-court resolution, her dual expertise — as both a litigator and mediator — means she can advise from the full range of options and take whatever course serves her client best. Where matters do proceed to court, she is entirely at home in complex, high-value litigation, and her understanding of how judges approach financial remedy proceedings gives her clients a material advantage at every stage.

Claire is a Member of Resolution and is ranked by Chambers & Partners in the Family/Matrimonial Finance: Ultra High Net Worth category (Band 3, UK 2026) and as a Leading Partner by Legal 500 (2026 and 2025). She holds a profile in the CityWealth Family Law Index, reflecting the recognition she commands among private wealth professionals, family offices, and the advisors who refer the most sensitive and complex cases in the market.
